This is a "Private Bus/Taxi Tour" visiting Komame Shokudo, Nakayama Senmaida, Rural Kabuki Theater, Shodoshima Pilgrimage Site No. 1 Douunzan, and Shodoshima Pilgrimage Site No. 2 Goishizan.
- Komame Shokudo
Popular for set meals featuring rice balls made with terraced rice from Nakayama Senmaida. They also offer Shodoshima olive beef hamburgers and carefully prepared somen noodles from a nearby noodle factory. It's close to a popular artwork by Wan Wenchi from the Setouchi Triennale.
- Nakayama Senmaida and Rural Kabuki Theater
Nakayama's thousand terraced rice fields, selected as one of Japan's 100 best terraced rice fields, and a rural kabuki theater for celebrating good harvests. The stone-built terraced fields use spring water from nearby Mt. Yubune, still employing the "ta-goshi" irrigation method. The rural kabuki theater's seating area is made of stone, and Teshima stone is used for the fire pots that serve as lighting.
- Shodoshima Pilgrimage Site No. 1 Douunzan
The first site of the Shodoshima Pilgrimage. For about 50 days around the summer solstice, an image of Kannon called "Geshi Kannon" appears on the rock face. It can be seen after 3 PM on sunny days when sunlight enters the cave and reflects off the surrounding rock walls to form the shape of Kannon.
- Shodoshima Pilgrimage Site No. 2 Goishizan
A mountain pilgrimage site that serves as the inner sanctuary of the 8th temple, Joukouji. It's called Goishizan (Go Stone Mountain) because the black stones mixed in the white rock face resemble go stones. There are traces of ascetic training grounds and torii gates from the era of Shinto-Buddhist syncretism. The main deity is Namikiri Fudo Myoo, who presides over safety at sea.
- Yamaroku Soy Sauce
A soy sauce brewery on Shodoshima Island with over 150 years of history. Their main product is "Tsuru Shoyu," a twice-brewed soy sauce made entirely in wooden barrels over about four years. In 2011, they launched the "Wooden Barrel Craftsman Revival Project" and began making their own wooden barrels.
