The Open-air theater TAO Hill “Skyward Stage” is based in Aso Kuju National Park, where you can experience live performances by DRUM TAO, a Japanese drum entertainment group active around the world.
The “Skyward Stage,” which is called the superb scenic stage, is located at an altitude of 1,036 meters, and the stage background is a spectacular grassland landscape that has been protected by human hands due to the effects of “open burning,” which is said to have been carried out since 1000 years ago, starting with the mountains of the Aso Five Mountains. It's such a place where you can hardly see any buildings up to Mt. Godake in Aso, which is about 40 km away. There is a special feeling that can only be found in this place.
This place where you can feel the breath of the earth is the source of DRUM TAO's creation, and it is a place that creates their spirit and body. Please drive their creative motivation and feel the power of the earth that is the source of TAO's music.
After checking in at TAO HOUSE on the premises, please relax until the concert time while looking at the cafe, goods corner, and costume displays in the facility. Bringing food and drink into the facility is prohibited, but drinks sold at TAO HOUSE Cafe can also be brought into the theater. You can enjoy a live performance in the great outdoors with a delicious drink in one hand. (Draft beer is also available)
There is no public transportation to TAO Hill, but it is located on the border between Kumamoto and Oita prefectures, so you can enjoy the best driving route from Fukuoka, Kumamoto, and Oita.
