[Lotus in Izunuma]

・Izunuma and Uchinuma are characterized by being shallow, with an average depth of 80 cm and a maximum of 1.6 meters.

・Since the depth of the water is shallow, aquatic plants prosper up to the center of the swamp, and there are plenty of aquatic plants such as reeds, makomo, oyster, lotus, jade pig, and clams, and approximately 700 species of plants have been identified, including the surrounding area.

・Among aquatic plants, lotus communities are spectacular. In summer, pink lotus flowers cover the surface of the lake, and the lotus festival is held every year from late July to August, and people enjoy lotus on sightseeing boats floating in the swamp.

The meals offered in this experience plan are lunches centered around the Miyagi brand “Date's Pure Red Pork” and local vegetables. Date's pure red pork is a meat pig produced by pure crossing “Shimofuri Red,” which was lineaged over a period of 8 years by a livestock testing site in Miyagi Prefecture, and is characterized by the fact that sardines are contained in the lean part. Red pork meat carefully raised by designated farmers is pale pink, rich in flavor, tender, and has excellent juiciness.
