In the town of Yakumo, a backwater of Matsue where the skills of living national treasures have been handed down, visitors will experience traditional washi papermaking, visit a washi-making workshop, and stroll through the old Japanese townscape that remains near the workshop.
Course Content
Abe Eishiro Memorial Museum: A video tour of the papermaking process will be shown. Visitors will actually make postcard-size sheets of washi paper.Afterwards, we will also tour the workshop currently in use.
It is convenient to use the JR-WEST RAIL PASS Kansai-San'in Area Pass to get to the meeting place.
