Join us on a guided tour of two fascinating religious sites: Munakata Taisha, one of Japan's oldest shrines and a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2017, and Miyajidake Shrine, known for its blessings of good fortune and business prosperity. Enjoy a delicious lunch of fresh sushi with stunning ocean views!
Highlights
Munakata Taisha Shrine (Hetsumiya)
The head shrine of over 6,000 Munakata shrines throughout Japan, dedicated to the three Munakata goddesses. These deities are revered for safe travels and as protectors of various "ways" including martial arts and tea ceremony. This tour visits Hetsumiya, the only one of the three Munakata shrines located on the Kyushu mainland.
Uminoiro (Sushi)
Savor delicious sushi made with fresh, local seafood while enjoying breathtaking ocean views from the counter seats.
Kagami no Umi
This 3km long shallow beach is known as the "Mirror Sea" because at low tide, the thin layer of seawater left on the sand creates tide pools that reflect the sky like a mirror.
(Please note that we cannot visit Kagami no Umi at specific low tide times.)
Miyajidake Shrine
Dedicated to the god of good fortune, this shrine is famous for its Okunomiya Hachisha (eight shrines said to grant wishes when all are visited) and Japan's largest "shimenawa" (sacred rope).
