Okawachiyama

For over 210 years, from the 1660s, Okawachiyama produced exquisite Nabeshima ware exclusively for the shogunate. Only the most skilled craftsmen were allowed to create the famous porcelain, and the Saga domain carefully controlled the techniques used and pottery made. Today, visitors can stroll through the scenic village, with its stunning cliffs and the charming chimneys of over 30 still-operating kilns, perfectly evoking the village’s nickname—“The Village of the Secret Kilns.”

Kyushu Ceramic Museum

Dedicated to the art of pottery, the Kyushu Ceramic Museum houses a stunning collection of around 30,000 ceramic pieces, including Arita ware and other masterpieces from around Kyushu. With a mix of iconic works and digital displays, the museum offers an insightful look into the history of Kyushu ceramics, highlighting different periods and styles. Fukagawa Seiji China on the Park

Perched on a hill and surrounded by lush greenery, the Chujikan gallery showcases the full elegance of the Fukagawa Seiji style, from pieces by Fukagawa Chuji, founder of Fukagawa Seiji, to modern creations inspired by his legacy.
