“Yana fishing”Do you know it?

“Yana fishing” is a traditional Japanese fishing method where a structure called a yana (yana) is placed in a river and waits for fish swimming upstream to catch it.

This is a plan where you can feel close to such “yana fishing” and eat sweetfish(ayu) to your heart's content!

We are waiting for you with valuable events such as the “skewer experience” where you can grill the sweetfish you have caught yourself, and the “experience of making ayu(sweetfish) ramen” using sweetfish bones, etc.

　I will give a lecture on fishing methods, history, and traditions of “yana fishing.”

➁ Ayu(sweetfish) catching experience

　This is an experience where you can catch sweetfish with your hands！

　※Depending on the weather and conditions on the day, you may not be able to experience it.

　※Depending on the season, you may experience grabbing in a cage or the like. Please be aware in advance.

➂ Ayu(sweetfish) skewer experience

　You will experience skewering the sweetfish you have actually caught on your own.

➃ Ayu(sweetfish) ramen making experience

　You can make your own original ayu(sweetfish) ramen, such as putting your favorite ingredients on it.

　You can enjoy sweetfish dishes along with the dishes you have made in your own experience.

What is ayu... Ayu is also known as a “sweetfish” (ayu), and its scent is so characteristic that it is said to have a “watermelon scent, cucumber scent.”

Ayu is also said to be a symbol of a beautiful river, and it is also related to the water quality purification function of rivers and the function of maintaining the landscape.

The Mugi River is a tributary of the Nagara River, which is one of Japan's top three clear streams, and is a famous brand of ayu that won the runner-up prize at the 25th Seiryu Meguri Riki Ayu Kai.
